About me

Michelle Buckles

HG.Dip.P, MHGI, MBA, BSc. (Hons) Psych & Soc., PG.Dip Rehab Psych, PG.Dip Psych

I’m a qualified and registered Psychotherapist living and working in Jersey, Channel Islands.

I started my career in 2002 after leaving university with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. I worked in the NHS as an Assistant Clinical Psychologist across multiple mental health sectors where I gained experience of working with people in both a 1:1 and group setting.

In 2008 I changed career and worked in the private sector in Operations Management and then became an Account Director in the Utilities sector for a global security company. During this time I completed a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and continued my love of learning.

I moved to Jersey from the UK in 2015 and fell in love with the island, a place I’m pleased to call home.  I worked at La Sente school helping children with social, emotional and mental health needs which reignited my passion for supporting people. I have since gone on to complete my training in Psychotherapy allowing me to practice in a private setting working with both teenagers and adults.

In addition to private practice I am an accomplished speaker delivering training on workplace wellbeing and managing mental health at work, performance enhancement coaching for executives and offer corporate mental health guidance on meeting Sustainable Development Goals and managing absenteeism in the workplace.

Brighter Futures is a local family charity where I am an ambassador and currently work two days a week providing 1:1 Psychotherapy sessions. I am also a member of the NSPCC Jersey fundraising committee.

I trained with the Human Givens College of Counselling and Psychotherapy in England and am a graduate member of the British Psychological Society.

I am registered on the Human Givens register of Psychotherapists which is regulated by the professional Standards Authority.

When things go dark, we can’t see what we have. That doesn’t mean we don’t have those things. Those things remain, right there in front of us. All we need is to light a candle, or ignite some hope and we can see that what we thought was lost, was merely hidden.

I felt so much lighter after speaking with Michelle. We worked through a really difficult topic for me and it was done at my pace and allowed me to see things through a different lens. After the rewind session I was amazed to feel like something had shifted and I was no longer scared of the memory and what happened. It has allowed me to take back control and move forward with my life.
